Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated (in the Hell-fire, i.e. the faces of all disbelievers, Jews and Christians, etc.). 2 Travailing, worn. 3 They shall roast into the scalding Fire, 4 Given to drink of a spring fiercely boiling. 5 They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 in a sublime garden, 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 In which are high thrones. 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 And carpets ready spread, 16 So do they not see the camel – how it has been created? 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
