Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

Woe to every (kind of) scandal-monger and-backbiter, 1 Who collects wealth and [continuously] counts it. 2 Thinking that his wealth would make him last for ever! 3 Nay, but verily he will be flung to the Consuming One. 4 And what shall make thee know that which the Crushing Fire is? 5 The fire of Allah, kindled, 6 which will rise over the [guilty] hearts: 7 verily, it will close in upon them 8 In extending columns. 9

Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
