The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars fall, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 The closing night, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
