Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Alif Lam Mim. 1 THESE ARE MESSAGES of the divine writ, full of wisdom, 2 As guidance and mercy for the doers of good 3 who are constant in prayer and dispense charity: for it is they, they who in their innermost are certain of the life to come! 4 It is they who follow the guidance [that comes to them] from their Sustainer; and it is they, they who shall attain to a happy state! 5 But there are, among men, those who purchase idle tales, without knowledge (or meaning), to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah and throw ridicule (on the Path): for such there will be a Humiliating Penalty. 6 When Our verses are recited before them they turn away haughtily as though they did not hear them, as if a deafness had come into their ears. So give them tidings of a shameful punishment. 7 Surely those who believe, and do deeds of righteousness, there awaits them Gardens of Bliss 8 to abide therein in accordance with God's true promise: for He alone is almighty, truly wise. 9 He created the heavens without pillars as you see them, and put mountains upon the earth lest it might convulse with you, and He spread in it animals of every kind; and We sent down water from the cloud, then caused to grow therein (vegetation) of every noble kind. 10 Such is Allah's creation. Show me, then, what any others, apart from Allah, have created. Nay, the fact is that the wrong-doers are in manifest error. 11
