Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 And it is not amusement. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
