But nay, I swear by all that you can see 38 And by whatsoever you see not, 39 it is the speech of a noble Messenger. 40 And it is not the speech of a poet. Little it is that ye believe 41 Nor the word of a soothsayer; little is it that you mind. 42 It is a revelation from the Lord of the Worlds. 43 And if he [i.e., the Prophets] had forged this Discourse and thereafter ascribed it to Us, 44 We would have caught hold of him by his right hand 45 Then would have cut off his heart’s artery. 46 And not one of you could have held Us off from him. 47 And verily it is an admonition unto the God-fearing. 48 We certainly know that some among you will give the lie to it, 49 and surely it will be a cause of regret for the unbelievers. 50 And most surely it is the true certainty 51 Extol, then the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's mighty name! 52
