The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And those who govern the event, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 While eyes are downcast 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear. 26

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
