The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when souls are united, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 by the night when it approaches 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 where then are you going? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
