We sent Noah to his people telling him, "Warn your people before a painful torment approaches them". 1 He said: O my people! Lo! I am a plain warner unto you 2 That you should worship God and fear Him, and follow me 3 He will forgive your sins and will grant you respite till an appointed time. When the time appointed by God arrives, it cannot be postponed, if you only knew." 4 He said; 'My Lord, I have called my people by night and by day, 5 but it has had no effect on them except to make them run away. 6 “And whenever I called them, so that You may forgive them, they always thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves with their clothes, and remained stubborn and were extremely haughty.” 7 "I preached to them aloud, in public. 8 and preached to them in public, and also addressed them in secret. 9 and I said, "Ask you forgiveness of your Lord; surely He is ever All-forgiving, 10 He will send you abundant 11 rain from the sky, 12 "'What is amiss with you that you cannot look forward to God's majesty, 13 He has created you by stages! 14 "Have you not seen that God has created the seven heavens one above the other 15 And has made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp? 16 how God has produced you from the earth and caused you to grow, 17 then He shall return you into it, and bring you forth. 18 ‘And it is Allah Who made the earth a bed for you.’ 19 ‘So that you may tread the wide roads in it.’” 20
