Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Perish the hands of Abu Lahab, and perish he! 1 What will his wealth avail him, and all that he has gained? 2 He will suffer in a blazing fire 3 And his wife also: the firewood carrier; 4 with a rope of twisted fibre round her neck. 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
