NOW, VERILY, it is We who have created man, and We know what his innermost self whispers within him: for We are closer to him than his neck-vein. 16 Since the two scribes are sitting on each of his shoulders, he does not utter a word which is not recorded immediately by the watchful scribes. 17 each word he utters shall be noted down by a vigilant guardian. 18 The palsy of death will surely come. This is what you wished to avert. 19 And the trumpet shall be blown; that is the day of the threatening. 20 And every soul shall come, and with it a driver and a witness. 21 “You were indeed neglectful of this, so We have removed the veil for you, and your eyesight is sharp this day.” 22 And his companion (angel) will say: "Here is (this Record) ready with me!" 23 (They will be told,) "Throw into hell every persistent disbelievers, 24 Hinderer of good, transgressor, doubter, 25 who has set up with Allah another god. Indeed, you two, cast him into the terrible punishment' 26 ۞ His companion said: “I did not incite him to rebel; he was far gone into error of his own accord.” 27 "Do not argue in My presence. I had announced the promise of doom in advance. 28 My Word is not changed; and never do I inflict the least wrong upon My servants.” 29
