[AND] the dwellers of the wooded dales [of Madyan] gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 176 When Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 177 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 178 so fear God, and obey me. 179 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss. 181 And weigh (things) with a right balance, 182 Wrong not mankind in their goods, and do not evil, making mischief, in the earth. 183 And keep your duty unto Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old. 184 They said, "You are only of those affected by magic. 185 And thou art but a human being like unto us, and we deem thee to be of the liars. 186 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' 187 He said, “My Lord is Well Aware of what you do.” 188 But they rejected him. Then the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom seized them, and that was the Penalty of a Great Day. 189 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 190 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 191
