Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 But when sight is confounded 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
