The people of Lut rejected the messengers. 160 When their fellowman Lut said to them, “Do you not fear?” 161 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 164 “What! Among all the creatures, you commit the immoral acts with men?” 165 keeping yourselves aloof from all the [lawful] spouses whom your Sustainer has created for you? Nay, but you are people who transgress all bounds of what is right!" 166 They said: If you desist not, O Lut! you shall surely be of those who are expelled. 167 He said: "I do detest your doings." 168 (And prayed:) "O Lord, save me and my family from what they do." 169 So We delivered him and his people all together, 170 Except one old woman who remained behind. 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 And We rained on them a rain (of torment). And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned. 173 Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
