Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 They will be given drink from a boiling spring. 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 With their endeavour well pleased. 9 In a lofty garden, 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 and raised couches, 13 And cups put in place 14 and cushions ranged, 15 and rich carpets levelled out. 16 Will they not regard the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 Allah will punish him with a mighty Punishment, 24 for behold, unto Us will be their return, 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
