The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 And who glide with ease. 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
