Hizb 46
< random >
And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn) 139 When he left towards the laden ship. 140 And lots were cast (when a storm overtook them), he was rejected, (and thrown overboard). 141 [and they cast him into the sea,] whereupon the great fish swallowed him, for he had been blameworthy. 142 But had it not been that he was of those who glorify (Us), 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick; 145 We made a plant of gourd grow up for him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand, rather they exceeded. 147 And they believed, whrefore We let them enjoy life for a season. 148 Now ask them if their Lord has daughters, and they sons? 149 Or did We make the angels females, and they witnessed it? 150 Behold, it is one of their fabrications that they say: 151 'God has begotten a son.' They are certainly liars. 152 (And again of their falsehood): He hath preferred daughters to sons. 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Or, is there for you a clear warranty 156 Then bring your Book if you are truthful! 157 And they assert a relationship between Him and the jinn; and certainly the jinn do know that they shall surely be brought up; 158 Exaltations to Allah above what they describe, 159 all of them except the chosen servants of Allah. 160 neither you nor what you worship 161 You cannot make anyone rebel against Him. 162 Except such as are (themselves) going to the blazing Fire! 163 As for us, there is none but has an appointed station. 164 We stand in ranks (for prayer) 165 And we are they who exalt (Allah)' 166 And indeed they (Arab pagans) used to say; 167 Had we a reminder from those of yore, 168 we would have certainly been sincere servants of God". 169 But when it came to them, they rejected it. They shall soon come to know (the end of such an attitude). 170 Already Our Word has preceded to Our servants, the Envoys; 171 Most surely they shall be the assisted ones 172 and that, verily, Our hosts - they indeed - would [in the end] be victorious! 173 (Muhammad), stay away from them for a while 174 And watch them, for they will soon see. 175 Do they want to suffer Our torment immediately? 176 But when it cometh home to them, then it will be a hapless morn for those who have been warned. 177 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 178 And (then) see, for they too shall see. 179 Too glorious is your Lord, the Lord of power, for what they ascribe to Him. 180 And peace be on the Messengers! 181 And all praise is due to God alone, the Sustainer of all the worlds! 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
