The people of the Wood too called the messengers liars. 176 Recall, when Shuayb said to them: "Have you no fear? 177 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 178 I ask of you no wage for this; 179 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ Give a full measure and be not of those who diminish; 181 "And weigh with scales true and upright. 182 "And defraud not people by reducing their things, nor do evil, making corruption and mischief in the land. 183 and have fear of Him Who created you and the earlier generations." 184 They replied: 'You are surely one of those bewitched. 185 "You are but a human being like us and verily, we think that you are one of the liars! 186 So cause a fragment of the sky to fall on us, if you are truthful." 187 He said, “My Lord is Well Aware of what you do.” 188 But they called him a liar, so the punishment of the day of covering overtook them; surely it was the punishment of a grievous day. 189 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 And most surely your Lord is Mighty, the Merciful. 191
