Al-Taareq

The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

By heaven and the night-star! 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 It is the piercing star - 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 and is no idle tale. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
