Truly, it is the sending of the Lord of the Worlds. 192 which the truthful spirit has carried down 193 upon thy heart, that thou mayest be one of the warners, 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 And lo! it is in the Scriptures of the men of old. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned men of the Israelites know it? 197 And had We sent it down upon a person other than an Arab, 198 And he had recited it to them, and they had not believed (it would have been different). 199 Thus do We cause (unbelief) to enter the hearts of sinners. 200 They will not believe it until they behold the painful punishment. 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are unaware, 202 and they will say, 'Shall we be respited?' 203 Seek haste then they with our torment? 204 Did you consider that if We were to let them enjoy life for many years 205 And then there came to them that which they were promised? 206 It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)! 207 And never did We destroy a township which did not have Heralds of warning, – 208 To remind, and We are never unjust. 209 And the devils have not brought the revelation down. 210 nor does it behove them, nor does it lie in their power. 211 Lo! verily they are banished from the hearing. 212 So do not call upon another god with Allah, lest you should be one of those who are punished. 213 Warn your tribe and your near kinsmen. 214 and lower your wing to the believers who follow you. 215 If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' 216 Put your trust in the Almighty, the Most Merciful, 217 who can see whether you stand up 218 and when thou turnest about among those who bow. 219 He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you, (O people!), on whom it is that the evil ones descend? 221 They descend on every lying, wicked person, 222 on those who whisper hearsay in the ears of people; and most of them are liars. 223 And the Poets,- It is those straying in Evil, who follow them: 224 Do you not see that they wander about bewildered in every valley? 225 And that they say what they do not do? - 226 Save those who believed and worked righteous works and remembered Allah much, and vindicated themselves after they had been wronged. And anon those who do wrong shall come to know with what a translating they shall be translated. 227
