The tribe of Ad rejected the Messengers. 123 When their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 124 I am a trustworthy Messengers sent to you. 125 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 126 And I do not ask you any reward for it; surely my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds 127 Do you build monuments on every high place in vanity, 128 And seek ye out strongholds, that haply ye may last for ever? 129 and when you strike you strike like tyrants? 130 So fear God, and obey me; 131 Have fear of Him Who has provided you with all the (good) things you know; 132 Who has provided you with flocks and children 133 and gardens, and springs -- 134 Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a dreadful Day' 135 They said: It is the same to us whether you admonish or are not one of the admonishers 136 This is but a fable of the men of old, 137 They rejected him and We destroyed them. 138 So they belied him, and We destroyed them. Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 139 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 140
