And when the messengers came unto the family of Lot, 61 he said to them: 'I do not know you' 62 They answered: "Nay, but we have come unto thee with [the announcement of] something that they [who are given to evil] have always been wont to call in question, 63 "Yet we bring to you the truth, and we are truthful. 64 “Therefore journey with your household while a portion of the night remains, and you tread behind them – and none of you may turn around and see, and proceed directly to the place you are commanded to.” 65 And We revealed to him this decree, that the roots of these shall be cut off in the morning. 66 The people of the town rejoicingly 67 and he told them, "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 "And do not disgrace me. Have some fear of God." 69 They said; Have we not forbidden you from (entertaining) anyone? 70 He said: These are my daughters, if you will do (aught). 71 By your life, they wandered blindly in their dazzlement. 72 So the shriek seized them at sunrise. 73 and We turned it uppermost nethermost and rained on it stones of baked clay. 74 Indeed in this are signs for people who perceive. 75 The place (where this occurred) lies along a known route. 76 surely in that is a sign for believers. 77 Certainly the dwellers in the Thicket were evildoers, 78 and We took vengeance on them. The two of them were upon a roadway manifest. 79
