The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The believers have indeed attained true success: 1 who are submissive to God in their prayers, 2 And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that Allah has forbidden). 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 and restrain their carnal desires 5 except with their wives, and what their right hands possess -- for then they are free from blame, 6 Those who seek beyond that are transgressors. 7 And those who keep proper regard for their trusts and their pledges. 8 And they who carefully maintain their prayers - 9 and who are steadfast in their prayer. 10 Who will inherit Paradise, and live in it for ever. 11 And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay. 12 then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a safe place, 13 then We developed that drop into a clinging form, and We developed that form into a lump of flesh, and We developed that lump into bones, and clothed the bones with flesh. Then We brought him into being as a new creation, glory be to God, the best of creators, 14 Then after that, certainly all of you are to die. 15 Then you will be raised up again on the Resurrection Day. 16 We made several highways one over the other above you. We are not neglectful of creation. 17 We send down water from the sky in determined measure, and store it up in the earth; and We have power to drain it away. 18 And We brought forth for you thereby gardens of palm trees and grapevines in which for you are abundant fruits and from which you eat. 19 And [We brought forth] a tree issuing from Mount Sinai which produces oil and food for those who eat. 20 And behold, in the cattle [too] there is indeed a lesson for you: We give you to drink of that [milk] which is within their bellies; and you derive many [other] uses from them: for, you eat of their flesh, 21 and you ride on them as you do in ships. 22
