O you apostles, eat things that are clean, and do things that are good. We are surely cognisant of what you do. 51 Verily this your order is one order, and I am your Lord, so fear Me. 52 Then they cut their affair among them in regard to the Scriptures; each band in that which is with them rejoicing. 53 So leave them in their intoxication till a time. 54 What, do they think that We succour them with of wealth and children, 55 We are hastening to reward them for good deeds? No. They do not comprehend. 56 Surely they who from fear of their Lord are cautious, 57 who believe in the revelations of their Lord, 58 and do not ascribe partners to Him; 59 And those who give what they give (in alms) while their hearts are full of fear that to their Lord they must return, 60 it is these who hasten to do good works and vie in so doing with one another. 61 And [withal.] We do not burden any human being with more than he is well able to bear: for with Us is a record that speaks the truth [about what men do and can do]; and none shall be wronged. 62 In fact, the hearts of the unbelievers are in the dark because of their ignorance of real virtue; they act against it. 63 Until, when We seize in Punishment those of them who received the good things of this world, behold, they will groan in supplication! 64 Invoke not loudly this day! Certainly, you shall not be helped by Us. 65 My revelations were recited to you, but you turned your backs 66 In scorn thereof. Nightly did ye rave together. 67 Have they not pondered the Word, or hath that come unto them which came not unto their fathers of old? 68 Or, is it that they recognised not their apostle, and so of him they become deniers? 69 Or say they: "There is madness in him?" Nay, but he brought them the truth [i.e. "(A) Tauhid: Worshipping Allah Alone in all aspects (B) The Quran (C) The religion of Islam,"] but most of them (the disbelievers) are averse to the truth. 70 But if the Truth had followed their inclinations, the heavens and the earth and whoever is in them would have been ruined. Rather, We have brought them their message, but they, from their message, are turning away. 71 Or dost thou [O Muhammad] ask of them any worldly recompense? But [they ought to know that] recompense from thy Sustainer is best, since He is the best of providers! 72 And verily thou! thou callest them unto a Path straight. 73 But those who believe not in the Hereafter turn away from the straight path. 74 ۞ Even if We showed them mercy and relieved them of their afflictions, they would still persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 Already have We grasped them with punishment, but they humble not themselves unto their Lord, nor do they pray, 76 Until when We have opened before them a door of severe punishment, immediately they will be therein in despair. 77
