And recount to them the story of Abraham: 69 He said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship' 70 They said, “We worship idols, and we keep squatting in seclusion before them.” 71 'Do they hear you when you call on them' He asked. 72 'Can they benefit you or harm you' 73 They replied: 'No, but we found our fathers doing so' 74 He said: "Do you observe that which you have been worshipping, 75 and what your grandfathers worshipped 76 Verily they are an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the worlds. 77 He created me and He will guide me. 78 And Who feedeth me and watereth me. 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me, 80 And He Who shall cause me to die, and then shall quicken me. 81 And Who, I ardently hope, will forgive me my sin on the Day of Judgment. 82 My Lord! Vouchsafe me wisdom and unite me to the righteous. 83 And uphold my name with posterity, 84 and make me of those who will inherit the Garden of Bliss, 85 Forgive my father. He has gone astray. 86 and disgrace me not on the Day when people will be raised to life, 87 on the Day of Judgment when neither wealth nor children will be of any benefit 88 Unless it be he, who shall bring unto Allah a whole heart, 89 For, [on that Day,] paradise will be brought within sight of the God-conscious, 90 And Hell made visible to those who had gone astray. 91 And it will be said to them: "Where are those (the false gods whom you used to set up as rivals with Allah) that you used to worship 92 “Instead of Allah? Will they help you or retaliate?” 93 They will then be thrown into Hell with those who had gone astray 94 and the hosts of Iblis - all together. 95 Disputing among themselves they will say: 96 "By God, we were most obviously astray 97 When we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 “And none misled us but the guilty.” 99 We have no one to intercede for us before God 100 Nor a close friend (to help us). 101 Were there for us a return, we would be of the believers. 102 Surely, in that there is a sign, yet most of them do not believe. 103 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 104

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
