The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Woe to the defrauders, 1 those who, when they take from others by measure, take their full share; 2 And who, when they measure unto them or weigh for them, diminish. 3 Imagine such men not that they shall be raised up? 4 For a tremendous Day - 5 A Day whereon mankind shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Nay, but the record of the vile is in Sijjin - 7 And what could make thee conceive what that that mode inescapable will be? 8 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed. 9 Woe on that Day unto the beliers 10 and those who have rejected the Day of Judgment. 11 And none belieth it save each trespasser, sinner. 12 And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! 13 Nay! rather, what they used to do has become like rust upon their hearts. 14 Nay, but surely on that day they will be covered from (the mercy of) their Lord. 15 Then lo! they verily will burn in hell, 16 Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny." 17 Nay! Most surely the record of the righteous shall be in the Iliyin. 18 And what will make you know what the highest Iliyin is? 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 which those angels closest to God will bear witness to. 21 Verily, Al-Abrar (the pious who fear Allah and avoid evil) will be in delight (Paradise). 22 upon couches gazing; 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given to drink pure sealed wine. 25 its seal is musk, for this let the competitors compete; 26 With the wine is a drink from Tasnim, 27 A spring whereof drink those nearest to Allah. 28 The wicked used to laugh at the believers -- 29 and whenever they pass by them, they wink at one another [derisively]; 30 And when they went back to their people turned to make fun of them; 31 And upon seeing the Muslims, they used to say, "Indeed they have gone astray." 32 But they had not been sent as guardians over them. 33 So today those who believe shall laugh at the unbelievers; 34 Regarding them from their cushioned seats. 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded for what they did? 36
