Ad gave the lie to the apostles. 123 when their brother Hud said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 124 I am a trustworthy Messengers sent to you. 125 So fear Allah and obey me. 126 I seek of you no reward for this; my reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 127 What, you build a monument on every hill merely for fun 128 And take for yourselves palaces and fortresses that you might abide eternally? 129 When you lay hands upon anyone, you do so as tyrants. 130 So fear Allah, and obey me. 131 and [thus] be conscious of Him who has [so] amply provided you with all [the good] that you might think of 132 “He aided you with cattle and sons.” 133 And gardens and springs. 134 I am afraid that you will suffer the torment of the Day of Judgment." 135 They said: "It is the same to us if you warn us or do not warn. 136 That is nothing but a habit of the ancients, 137 and we shall never be punished' 138 And they belied him; so We destroyed them. Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 139 Surely, your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 140
