The people of Lut denied the Noble Messengers. 160 Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 161 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 164 What, do you come to male beings, 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? You are a people who transgress all bounds." 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 (Lot) said: "I am disgusted with your actions," 168 My Lord! deliver me and my household from that which they work. 169 We saved him and all of his family, 170 Except an old woman who lingered behind. 171 then We destroyed the others, 172 And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned. 173 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
