The people of Lot rejected the Messengers, branding them liars. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not take heed? 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" 166 They said, "If you do not desist, Lot, you will surely be banished." 167 He said: I am in truth of those who hate your conduct. 168 "My Lord! Save me and my family from what they do." 169 So We saved him and all his people, 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)! 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 175
