The people of Lut belied the sent ones. 160 Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 164 "Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males, 165 “And leave the wives your Lord has created for you? In fact you are people who exceed the limits.” 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said, “I am disgusted with your works.” 168 My Lord, deliver me and my people from that they do.' 169 So We delivered him and his family,- all 170 except an old woman who stayed behind, 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 and We rained on them a rain; and evil is the rain of them that are warned. 173 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 174 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 175
