In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Alif-Lam-Mim. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 These are revelations of the wise Scripture, 2 providing guidance and grace unto the doers of good 3 Those who keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and they are certain of the hereafter. 4 They follow the guidance of their Lord and they will have everlasting happiness. 5 But among men there is many a one that prefers a mere play with words [to divine guidance,] so as to lead [those] without knowledge astray from the path of God, and to turn it to ridicule: for such there is shameful suffering in store. 6 And when Our signs are recited to such a man he turns away, waxing proud, as though he heard them not, and in his ears were heaviness; so give him good tidings of a painful chastisement. 7 Verily those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be Gardens of Delight. 8 where they shall live for ever. The promise of Allah is the truth; He is the Almighty, the Wise. 9 He created the heavens without pillars as you see them, and put mountains upon the earth lest it might convulse with you, and He spread in it animals of every kind; and We sent down water from the cloud, then caused to grow therein (vegetation) of every noble kind. 10 Such is the creation of Allah; now show me what, other than Him, created! No, the harmdoers are in clear error. 11
