۞ Muster those who did evil, their wives, and that they were serving, 22 instead of God, and lead them all onto the way to the blazing fire, 23 "But stop them, verily they are to be questioned. 24 "'What is the matter with you that ye help not each other?'" 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 And some of them shall advance towards others, questioning each other. 27 saying: 'You used to come to us from the right hand' 28 Others will respond, "It was you who did not want to have any faith. 29 We had no power over you, but ye were wayward folk. 30 Thus, the words of Our Lord about us have come true and now we are suffering the torment. 31 So we led you astray, for we ourselves were erring. 32 Then verily, that Day, they will (all) share in the torment. 33 Verily We! in this wise We deal with the culprits. 34 for, behold, whenever they were told, "There is no deity save God," they would glory in their arrogance 35 and said: 'Are we to renounce our gods for the sake of a mad poet' 36 (They say so although) he brought the Truth and confirmed the veracity of the Messengers. 37 Lo! (now) verily ye taste the painful doom - 38 but you shall not be recompensed except for what you were doing. 39 Save the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 40 For them is a known sustenance, 41 Fruits. And they will be honoured 42 in the Gardens of Bliss. 43 On couches, facing one another. 44 Cups of wine will be presented to them in rounds, from a spring flowing in front of them. 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 Neither dulling the senses nor intoxicating, 47 And with them will be women limiting [their] glances, with large, [beautiful] eyes, 48 As if they were eggs carefully protected. 49 Then they will turn to one another, mutually questioning. 50 A speaker of them saith: Lo! I had a comrade 51 “Who used to tell me, ‘Do you believe it is true?’ – 52 (Do you think) we would be paid back our due when we are dead and reduced to dust and bones?' 53 He says, 'Are you looking down?' 54 He looked down and saw (his friend) in the midst of Hell. 55 He saith: By Allah, thou verily didst all but cause my ruin, 56 for had it not been for my Sustainer's favour, I would surely be [now] among those who are given over [to suffering]! 57 He will ask his companion, "Did you not say that there would only be one death 58 "Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished?" 59 Lo! this is the supreme triumph. 60 For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. 61 So is this welcome better, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 We have indeed made that a punishment for the unjust. 63 It is a tree that grows at the bottom of Hell. 64 Its spathes are like the heads of satans. 65 (The people of Hell) will surely eat of it, filling their bellies with it. 66 Washing it down with boiling water. 67 Then indeed, their return will be to the Hellfire. 68 They had found their fathers astray, 69 So they (too) made haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 And there had already strayed before them most of the former peoples, 71 We had certainly sent warners to them. 72 So behold what wise hath been the end of those who were warned. 73 except the sincere worshipers of Allah. 74
