۞ [The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who committed wrong, their kinds, and what they used to worship 22 “Instead of Allah and herd them to the path leading to hell.” 23 And stop them, for they shall be questioned: 24 "What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another (as you used to do in the world)?" 25 They will submit to questioning then, 26 And some of them shall advance towards others, questioning each other. 27 "It was you who tried to mislead us from righteousness". 28 They will reply: "Nay, ye yourselves had no Faith! 29 we had no power over you; but you yourselves were a rebellious people. 30 The sentence of our Lord has come true for us. We have certainly to taste (the punishment), 31 We led you astray as we were ourselves astray." 32 So they shall on that day be sharers in the chastisement one with another. 33 This is how We deal with the criminals. 34 for, behold, whenever they were told, "There is no deity save God," they would glory in their arrogance 35 And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our aliha (gods) for the sake of a mad poet? 36 'No indeed; but he brought the truth, and confirmed the Envoys. 37 “You surely have to taste the painful punishment.” 38 and not be recompensed, except according to what you were doing.' 39 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 40 will have their determined sustenance 41 Fruits; and they shall be honoured, 42 In gardens of pleasure, 43 They will be seated upon couches set face to face; 44 A cup from a gushing spring is brought round for them, 45 White, delicious to those who drink. 46 wherein no sickness is, neither intoxication; 47 And with them are those of modest gaze, with lovely eyes, 48 (Delicate and pure) as if they were (hidden) eggs (well) preserved. 49 So one among them turns to the other, questioning. 50 The speaker among them said, “I had a companion.” 51 'Do you believe in the Day of Judgment? 52 "'When we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed receive rewards and punishments?'" 53 He will say: -- Do you wish to know where he is now?' 54 And he will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire. 55 He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)! 57 (Another will say:)"Is it true, we are not going to die 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 Verily this! that is the supreme achievement. 60 For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. 61 Is that better as a hospitality, or the Tree of Ez-Zakkoum? 62 Verily We! We have made it a temptation for the wrong-doers. 63 Lo! it is a tree that springeth in the heart of hell. 64 and its fruits are like the heads of devils. 65 And lo! they verily must eat thereof, and fill (their) bellies therewith. 66 Then on the top of that they will be given boiling water to drink so that it becomes a mixture (of boiling water and Zaqqum in their bellies). 67 then their return is to Hell. 68 They found their father going astray 69 and they are running in their footsteps. 70 Most of the ancient people had also gone astray. 71 And verily We sent among them warners. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not). 73 Except the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, and true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 74
