Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Ha. Mim. 1 A revelation from the Beneficent, the Merciful, 2 A Book of which the verses are made plain, an Arabic Quran for a people who know: 3 proclaiming good news and a warning. Yet most of them turn away and so do not listen. 4 And say: "Our hearts are immured against what you call us to. There is a deafness in our ears, and a veil lies between us and you. So act (your way), we are acting (ours)." 5 Say (unto them O Muhammad): I am only a mortal like you. It is inspired in me that your Allah is One Allah, therefor take the straight path unto Him and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe unto the idolaters, 6 who do not pay zakat and have no faith in the life to come. 7 [But,] verily, they who have attained to faith and do good works shall have a reward unending! 8
