Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ha, Meem. 1 By the manifest Book (that makes things clear, i.e. this Quran). 2 Verily We! We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that haply ye may reflect. 3 And verily, [originating as it does] in the source, with Us, of all revelation, it is indeed sublime, full of wisdom. 4 Shall We turn away the Remembrance from you because you are a sinful nation? 5 How many a prophet did We send among the men of old! 6 no Prophet came to them except that they mocked him, 7 So We destroyed far more powerful (nations) than they. The example of earlier people is there. 8 And if thou (Muhammad) ask them: Who created the heavens and the earth, they will surely answer: The Mighty, the Knower created them; 9 He Who made the earth a resting-place for you, and made in it ways for you that you may go aright; 10 And who sends down rain from the sky in measured amounts, and We revive thereby a dead land - thus will you be brought forth - 11 And He Who created pairs of all things, and made for you of the ships and the cattle what you ride on, 12 so that perhaps when you ride them, you will recall the bounties of your Lord and when you establish your control over it you would say, "Glory belongs to Him who has made it subservient to us when we would not have been able to do so ourselves. 13 indeed, to our Lord we are turning' 14 Yet they make some of His servants partners in His divinity. Man is clearly ungrateful! 15
