Thus did We deliver the Children of Israel from the humiliating chastisement, 30 from Pharaoh, who ranked high in sin, 31 And We certainly chose them by knowledge over [all] the worlds. 32 And We gave them portents wherein was a clear trial. 33 Indeed these disbelievers proclaim; – 34 “This is our first and only death, and we shall never be raised again. 35 “Therefore bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful!” 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba' and those before them whom We destroyed? They were surely sinners. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, in play. 38 We created them with definite purpose; but most of them do not understand. 39 Verily the Day of Distinction is the term appointed for all of them. 40 (when wrong will be distinguished from right). On this day friends will be of no benefit to one another, nor will they receive any help 41 Except him on whom Allah has Mercy. Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 42
