Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Doomed are the conjecturers 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 They slept very little during the night 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
