Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 then the bearers of weight (the clouds), 2 And those who move (on the water) gently, 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 Those who (flounder) heedless in a flood of confusion: 11 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Doom?' 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 And in the morning they asked forgiveness. 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 This, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth is as certain as your ability to speak. 23
