The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The All-merciful 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man. 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 and jinn from the many colored flames of fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
