Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
