The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 About the great event, 2 whereon they are at variance. 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 and created you in pairs (as men and women), 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 And have appointed the day for livelihood. 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 so that We may bring forth thereby grain and a variety of plants, 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 Surely the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 a resort for the rebellious; 22 therein they shall abide for ages, 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 Except boiling water and benumbing cold: 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 For lo! they looked not for a reckoning; 27 and they absolutely belied Our verses, 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
