The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Of what do they ask one another? 1 About the awesome tidings [of resurrection] 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 Nay, but in time they will come to understand [it]! 4 They will indeed come to know soon. 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 and the night as a cover, 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 And placed a lamp therein brightly burning. 13 And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates, 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Behold, Gehenna has become an ambush, 21 For the transgressors, a place of return, 22 therein they shall abide for ages, 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 Save scalding water and corruption. 25 An appropriate recompense. 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 Everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
