He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Prophet frowned and turned away 1 Because there came unto him a blind man. 2 What made you think that he will not grow in virtue, 3 or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning? 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 you eagerly attended to him -- 6 although thou art not accountable for his failure to attain to purity; 7 As for him who comes to you striving (after goodness), 8 and in awe [of God] 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 No indeed, this is a Reminder; 11 So whoever wills, let him pay attention to it. 12 On honoured leaves 13 Exalted, purified, 14 [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, 15 Honourable and Virtuous. 16 Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. 17 From what substance did He create him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 Then the way He made easy. 20 Then He causes him to die, and puts him in his grave; 21 and then, if it be His will, He shall raise him again to life, 22 Nay; but he has not done what He bade him. 23 Let man reflect on the food he eats. 24 That We watered it in abundance. 25 and split the earth, splitting, 26 We make the grain grow out of it, 27 And grapes and clover, 28 And olives and date-palms, 29 and burgeoning enclosed gardens 30 And fruits and grass, 31 for you and for your animals to enjoy. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 On that day man will run away from his brother. 34 Mother and father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 every man that day shall have business to suffice him. 37 [Some] faces, that Day, will be bright - 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news (of Paradise). 39 And faces on that Day! upon them shall be gloom. 40 Blackness will cover them. 41 Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. 42

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
