The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
