The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 who demand of other people full measure for themselves, 2 but when they give by measurement or weight to others, they give them less. 3 Do not these think that they shall be raised again 4 On a grievous day, 5 the Day when people will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 No indeed; the Book of the libertines is in Sijjin; 7 And what will explain to thee what Sijjin is? 8 it is a written record. 9 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations 10 Who give the lie to the day of judgment. 11 and none cries lies to it but every guilty aggressor. 12 When you recite Our verses to him, he says, "Stories of earlier men!" 13 Nay, but their hearts are corroded by all [the evil] that they were wont to do! 14 By no means! Verily on that Day from their Lord they will be shut out. 15 Then indeed they have to enter hell. 16 And it will be said (unto them): This is that which ye used to deny. 17 By no means! Verily the record of the virtuous shall be in 'Illiyun. 18 Would that you knew what Illiyin is! 19 A Register inscribed. 20 Attested by those who are brought near (unto their Lord). 21 The righteous shall indeed be blissful, 22 [resting on couches, they will look up [to God]: 23 Thou wilt know in their faces the radiance of delight. 24 They are made to quaff of a pure drink that is sealed (to others). 25 With a sealing of musk, which those who aspire for the best should desire, -- 26 With it will be (given) a mixture of Tasnim: 27 A fountain from which only they who are honoured drink. 28 Indeed the guilty used to laugh at the believers. 29 and whenever they pass by them, they wink at one another [derisively]; 30 and whenever they return to people of their own kind, they return full of jests; 31 And when they saw them they said: Lo! these have gone astray. 32 But they were not Sent to be guardians over them! 33 So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers, 34 On high thrones, watching. 35 Did not the disbelievers get repaid for what they used to do? 36
