The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
