The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
