The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ 21 Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
