The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the sky has split [open] 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 Hence, give them the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come] 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
