The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of the night when it covers 1 and the day in splendour 2 and by the creation of the male and the female. 3 Verily, [O men,] you aim at most divergent ends! 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 And denied the best matter, 9 We shall facilitate for him the way to Hardship, 10 And his riches will not avail him when he falls headlong (into the Abyss). 11 Indeed, [incumbent] upon Us is guidance. 12 And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning. 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 Who denied (the truth) and turned away. 16 and from which the most godfearing shall be removed, 17 Who gives his wealth in order to be pure. 18 And none hath with him any favour for reward, 19 But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High. 20 He verily will be content. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
